The AFL's long cherished dream of being accepted as a major international TV sport received a huge boost following the announcement of a deal to screen matches live in the US. A few of the networks are Fox Sports World, the Fox Sports Net affiliates, Midwest Sports Channel, MSG, NESN, and Home Team Sports. Coverage includes full matches, "2 Hour Match of the Week", and a weekly highlights show. Times and days vary between each network. For an extensive listing click here.
AFANA - Australian Football Association of North America: Its mission is to promote the most exciting sport in the world, Australian Football. The main goal is to provide weekly AFL coverage on North American television. For AFANA membership information, 1998 AFL Draw, and a lot more contact AFANA.
USAFA - United States Australian Football Association: The USAFA was originally called the USAFL which was formed on June 22, 1997. The name was changed to the USAFA during a meeting between members of teams participating in the Cincinnati Football Tournament, held on September 6/7, 1997. Its aim is to promote footy in the US and get regular matches between teams from the various cities scheduled. AFANA supports the USAFA and will assist them and be a part of discussions regarding the future of on-field Aussie Rules. To contact the USAFA.
